Robert Gordon is the CEO of Australian-based consultancy, Board Accord, with reach across Australia into NZ and Asia.He has two decades experience consulting, coaching and mentoring in the C Suite and the Boardroom.
He was invited by IBM and JP Morgan to introduce the discourse on Workplace Stress and Resilience into the modern Chinese Corporate economy, in 2004, presenting to senior executives in China, HK and Taiwan.
Over the last six years he has facilitated numerous board, chair, CEO and management reviews. His clients include listed companies, not-for-profit organisations, ports, government instrumentalities, indigenous organisations and trusts, co-operatives and sporting organisations.
He presents topics on Boardroom Performance and Dynamics at conferences and universities and is regularly referenced in journals
His master's dissertation researched Workplace Stress and Resilience and his clinical practice was in a maximum-security prison, documenting impulse control.
He has numerous industry certifications in Solution Focused Problem Solving, The Mayer- Salovey-Caruso Emotional Intelligence Test, Behavioural Typology Assessments (DiSC and Enneagram), and Global Leadership Profile
His expertise is in Boardroom Governance and Dynamics, Social Organisational and Coaching Psychology, Integral and Developmental Theory, Emotional Intelligence, Communication, Mindfulness and Workplace Resilience.
He has practiced and taught meditation for four decades and has successfully instructed hundreds of directors, corporate executives and sporting personalities.
Robert graduated with a B.Ed, Masters Counselling (dissertation Workplace Resilience, clinical practice, the Prison System). He is also a graduate of both the AICD’s International Director Program (UAE) and the INSEAD International Directors Program (Singapore, Paris).
In 2016 he was invited by the Singapore Institute of Directors to sit as a panellist on the development and launch of the ‘Board Guide’, the fourth in a series of Corporate Governance Guides for boards guides and board committees in Singapore.
In 2016, he was invited by INSEAD to deliver a webinar on “How might boards disrupt Technological Disruption”, for IDP Alumni, globally.
In 2017 He was invited by the Singapore Institute of Directors to facilitate their first externally led review of the 20 member SID Council.
In 2017 he was invited to Keynote at the Thai Institute of Directors Annual Conference in Bangkok on the title – “How might the board disrupt the Disruption?”
In 2017 he was invited to deliver master classes for the Indian Institute of Directors on the topic of “Boardroom Effectiveness”.
He is an alumnus of the Singapore Institute of Directors and delivers a Professional Development module for Listed Entity Directors, on Boardroom Dynamics and Communication, at the Singapore Stock Exchange 4 times per year.
